Schoology - LTI External Tool

(for LMS Admin)

For Global Install

1. Logon to Schoology as an Administrator.

2. On the School Management page, select Integration on the left side menu.

3. On the Integration page, select the External Tools tab.

4. Select Add External Tool.

   • Tool Name: Aktiv
   • Consumer Key: The Consumer Key that you got from Aktiv
   • Consumer Secret: The Consumer Secret that you got from Aktiv
   • Privacy: Send Name and Username/Email of Launcher
   • Config Type: Manual
   • Match by: Domain
   • Domain/URL: The Launch URL that you got from Aktiv
   • Custom Parameters: (blank)

For Local Install or to Add as link in course

1. Log in as the Admin or the Instructor on the course that is using Aktiv’s integration.

2. Select Add Materials: Add File/Link/External Tool

3. Select External Tool

4. If Aktiv has been added globally, select Aktiv from the drop down menu of Tool Providers.
   • Enter title: “Aktiv” (or other if desired by instructor)
   • Enter URL from above
   • Enter Key/Secret from above (only needed if global install was not done)
   • Custom Parameters: (blank)
   • Select Enable Grading
   • If required, select Category to add a new grading area category for Aktiv.
   • Save
5. To confirm everything is working, enroll as instructor and hit the Aktiv external link. A login page will appear if everything is set up correctly.
