Canvas - LTI External Tool

(for LMS Admin)

1. Logon to Canvas as an Administrator.

2. Navigate to Admin > Site Admin > Settings and select the Apps tab. (Note, select the account that the schools courses will be located under. You may have one or more accounts on your site).

   

3. Select + App. You may need to first hit View App Configurations button.

   

4. In the Add App screen:
   • For Configuration Type select Manual Entry.
   • For Name enter Aktiv.
   • For Consumer Key enter the consumer key.
   • For Consumer Secret enter the consumer secret.
   • For Launch URL enter the launch url.
   • Leave Domain blank.
   • For Privacy choose Public (this is important!).
   • Leave Custom fields blank.
   • Leave Description blank.
   • Hit Submit or Save Tool Settings.

   

5. Next step is to add a Canvas Developer Key (this is required for multi-column syncing).
